Matilda's Market

Over the weekend Bluebird & Honey participated in a designer market called Mathilda's Market. As you can see from our happy snap it was very very busy. This quarterly event attracts many mothers to be and new mums who crave a look at all the new up and coming labels. The calibre of product was an eclectic mix of established and new brands, some were crafty, others very taylor made.

All in all it was a great day. Lots of smiling faces, belly bumps and little ones running around. Needless to say there were many husbands and partners in tow but all looked to be having a great time and the grounds were child friendly which made shopping all the more fun!!.

Bluebird & Honey 'Lifestyle' - deciding on the perfect shot.....

Deciding on what to go with when producing a selection of images when they all seem to tell the story well in their own way.

We struggled over what images work best for bringing to the world what we know as the Bluebird & Honey look. Its tricky as the brand is cute but has a sophistication that seems to align itself with not just children but many from my generation. A friend of B&H had decided on a 'elephant cushion' as they said it. Not willing to admit that it really is a designer softie.. Who decided that toys were just for kids ?... not us... the Bluebird & Honey design team all decided that the brand was going to house products for all ages and that their common link would be that they were designed with style as the focus and a secret love of a time when things may have a been a little simpler...childhood'.

As you can see Bluebird & Honey is headed for a long season of prop shots and photoshoots....

We love just about any opportunity to show our wares in a truly stylish environment.

For this season we are much in love with the cool rich tones of a charcoal background. It brings out the colours in all the retro treasured textiles and pops out those polka dots one by one.

As the months move to a cooler climate in Australia we snuggle up with the soft plush designer softie and play about in a super cute stripped cotton jersey top with the cutest little felt applique elephant...as one can see we are very much loving the elephant...... They are a bit of a feature this month...

As we released the bluebird it was like a bee to honey with these pini's being the big surprise.

This reminiscent design brings back many a memory for many new mums.

The corduroy pini's have been made with a keen attention to detail and a clever combination of materials and bold appliques. The simplicity of the appliques felt silhouette mixed with the detail of buttons, intricate patterned textiles and colour coordination makes these dress delights the big hit of the season.

'Im dreaming of one in my size and as imagine it Im wearing thick cable knit tights, a longsleeve stripped top while boasting platinum blonde pigtails and a lollypop swirling through my mouth.. Oh how I wish I were a little girl again....'

Our trade fair launch at Sydney's recent gift fairs were a huge success......

As our happy snaps show the compact stand overflowing with colour and fun showcased the brand for the first time and between Life In Style and Homebush B&H made a definite splash onto the Australian market.
