Some may view it as a compliment others may say it is just plain rude, but you can imagine our surprise when we discovered that ALDI has taken the liberty of using the Bluebird and Honey characters on a range of singlets it released into it's stores this week.
We made several attempts to contact the buying department to see if we could seek a recall , but unfortunately without success.

Preferring not to take on unnecessary stress and anger - I am taking the view that is a compliment to the team that works on the Bluebird and Honey Range that we are worthy of being copied!

Kids Instyle Sydney – Stunning Stationery part two

Here’s part two of our stationery roundup from Kids Instyle Sydney! Ellyoak displayed a beautiful range of cards in Scandinavian-inspired designs for kids and kid-like adults. There were also sweet hearts and cherubs.

O.B. Designs released a range of cards with characters that look a lot like its fabric Dingarings! The astrology collection is awfully cute.

Lovimo produced some breathtakingly beautiful vintage-style stationery, drawing from classic children’s books such as Alice in Wonderland and The Little Prince.

Little Chipipi is renowned for its Moveables wall decals and organic bed linen and has just made the move into cards!

Bluebird and Honey are similarly diversifying with these adorable cards for young ones. This brand has featured regularly on Babyology for its beautiful baby and children’s clothing.

Now you have all the latest brands in stationery to stock up with. I love having a healthy pile of cards ready to go for birthdays and other occasions and it’s great to see what’s new and that the written word is most definitely not on its way out!

Life In Style Kicks Off

Well it's been a long time between posts . However it's time to face the reality that the summer holiday's have indeed come to an end !

Each season at Bluebird and Honey headquarters our talented graphic designers work with us to create our characters . You will have noticed that they appear on both our garments and yardage fabrics, while also making appearances on our gift tags and gift cards.

We like to think of our cards as mini pieces of art- and I love to hear customers tell me that they have framed them to place around their child's room.

Each card has a vintage style character on the front and graphic details on the reverse.

POM POM GARLANDS

I absolutely love everything hand made, and the move away from mass produced items. It is with delight that I show you a post that appeared on Honestly…WTF. Just imagine spending a spring day making Pom Pom's - perhaps while enjoying a glass of wine!

If you don’t absolutely love pom poms or haven’t ever considered making them yourself, perhaps we can sway you after this week’s DIY. We adore pom poms and were beyond excited to discover the Clover Pom Pom Maker, which allows you to crank out pom poms of all sizes and 10 times faster than the conventionalmethod. You will need a few skeins of yarn, a Clover Pom Pom Maker and a pair of scissors.

The Clover Pom Pom Maker separates the process into two halves; you’ll start the first half of the pom pom by cutting about 7 yards of yarn. A time saving trick is to double it up twice, so you are working with 4 strands at one time. Because time is money, right? Wrap the yarn from one edge of the arch to the other, making sure you have the entire area covered. Close the arch and repeat the same steps on the other side. Once both arches are covered, insert your scissors into the middle ridge and cut along the entire circle. Tie off your pom pom by slipping a piece of yarn along the middle, pull it into a tight knot, open your arch and pull your pom pom maker apart. Trim up your pom pom if necessary but leave the long piece of yarn you used to tie it together, as you’ll need that to attach your pom poms to….well, just about anything. (Click images to enlarge).

We must warn you that this process is quite addicting and you really can’t stop at just one. The possibilities are endless as you can make this, this, this, this, this, this, this or this. But in the end, Lauren and I chose to make this:

Best In Show: Kids InStyle Trade Event, Melbourne Australia 2010

The Life InStyle trade-only event, incorporating Kids InStyle, the baby and kids component of the show, was held at the Flemington Racecourse Grandstand in Melbourne, Australia from 10– 13 August 2010.

Showcasing 95 baby and kids brands, and over 180 lifestyle and homewares brands, the event delivered on its promise to “bring style to life”, with a universal high standard of product and display evident.

Angela, Edwina and I attended the show, and we have put together our top 20 picks – in no particular order; they are all number 1 for their own merits – from this edition of Kids InStyle for you. We also video interviewed select brands – please click here to view.

1. Mamas & Papas, represented by Childsmart, presented their newest product the Morph baby carrier. Due for release in Australia from October, Morph features space age looks and a revolutionary harness system and is able to be used for babies from birth up to 12kg. View a fantastic demonstration of Morph in action here.

2. Baobab, represented by Sales by Jo and Laura, captured our attention with their collection for AW2011 collection for babies and boys and girls to 10 years. Bold prints and colours against deep backgrounds, attention to detail – contrast studs and stunning tulle – and trademark quirky cuts project a thoughtful and simplified sense of sophistication and a fun-filled childhood. The Baobab AW2011 collection will be available in stores from March 2011.

3. Adri, represented by My Little Closet, makes seriously fun underwear for boys and girls. Designed in France and made in Portugal from 100% organic cotton, we fell head over heels with the quirky and loveable prints from this label. As well as being uber cool for kids, each pair comes in its own special 100% recycled box with matching mask! Who would have thought we could fall so hard for a pair of undies?!

4. Little Rivet Jeans Shown for the first time at this Kids InStyle, Little Rivet Jeans are a great new introduction to the market. Australian designed and made from high quality denim with particular attention to the finer finishing details – the stressed finishes for boys and the heart shaped back pockets for girls – there’s a lot to love about these jeans for boys and girls in sizes 1-14. The stand out feature of this range has to be the extraordinary and comprehensive range of colours – soft grey, yellow, aqua, lime green, not to mention a selection of different denims. The hardest part will be choosing which one you can’t live without because they’re all so darn cute!

5. Mister Mista Specialising in limited edition tees for boys, it was great to meet the clever duo behind this funky label. Travis is a brilliant illustrator, and together with partner Renee and their newfound experience as young parents, they bring a unique set of skills and insight to Mister Mista. As well as the limited edition tees, Mister Mista also make fabulous boyish wall decals in varying sizes, wall decal clocks, a range of prints and greeting cards. A new development launched at Kids InStyle, and a true highlight of the show for me, are their new Spooky Eggs. We brought a few home and trialed them on our own children with brilliant results. A simple toy designed to trick anyone who dares upon the little envelope containing the ‘spooky eggs’ is bound to be a hit with older kids and adults alike. We are convinced Mister Mista have a winner on their hands with this delightful little idea!

6. Aunty Ollie Beautiful as always, and all the more so with her pregnant halo, designer Jodie Hampshire from Aunty Ollie was on hand to personally show us through her new collection for autumn/winter 2011. The upcoming collection for babies and boys and girls right up to size 12, sees the introduction of some sweet new prints on quality fabrics and some very lovely raincoats. We were all especially taken by the pieces – jeans, skirts, coats and dresses – Jodie has developed using denim. The added touches of hand embroidery and some new cuts in dresses are bound to delight you, and we believe signals a denim revival. The Aunty Ollie AW11 collection will be available in-store at Aunty Ollie from October 2010.

7. Studio Skinky In addition to their already established and versatile Tortellini Cushions which can be used for breastfeeding, then for resting babies head when lying down, then around baby’s back for early sitting; Studio Skinky showcased for the first time at Kid InStyle their brand new baby crayons. Their bright colours had me eyeing off the display from across the room. The crayons handle nicely, can be stacked on top of one another easily, are beautifully boxed and still at a great price point (rrp $12.00). These will make handy stocking filler and gift for toddlers this Christmas.

8. Left Hand Make showcased their handcrafted Small One table and chair set and Soar swing, together with their new line of coat hooks, aptly named ‘Into The Pines’ and ‘Twiggy’. Suitable for use in kids’ rooms, hallways, or anywhere in the house really, these pieces offer beautiful design with practical function. In a lovely range of sizes, these are a wonderful useable piece of art.

9. Little Bubble and Tree’s stand was bright, fun and fresh – like what many of my summer childhood memories feel like when I relive them. In an array of bright colours, Little Bubble and Tree offer summer kaftans, as well as beautifully constructed hand made necklaces made of a mixture of crochet flowers and painted wood pieces.

10. Miller & Harry Made from organic, sustainable and natural fibers Miller & Harry make clothing for boys and girls ages 0-24 months. This was the first time we had felt a textile combining both wool and soy fibre and it was a revelation. Comprising the luxuriance, hard wearing nature, lightness and warmth of cashmere, keep your eye out for Miller & Harry pieces for your little ones.

11. Sweet Little Things Kids InStyle saw the launch of brand new (edible!) label Sweet Little Things. Sweet Little Things’ edible cake decorations are sure to come to the rescue of many a parent with their fantastic range of cake toppers for boys and girls, with gorgeous baking packs and retro aprons also on offer to complete the experience.

12. Live Play Create On display at Kids InStyle was Live Play Create who are creators of some very unique, sustainable and stylish toys and homewares. We loved their Fruut Tree and sacks the most, which is an ingenious system for storing your little ones’ collections of little things. To use the canvas sacks simply lay on floor, cover with items of choice, pull closed and then hang on the tree, which is mounted on the wall. The Fruut Tree not only offers a superb storage solution, but is a very appealing décor feature for your home.

13. Terry Rich For Children In a great range of gelato coloured stripes for boys and girls as well as a beautiful white waffle style, or lightweight cotton for slipping on in summer, Terry Rich’s quality towels and robes will add a touch of luxury at the beach or poolside this year.

14. Ubabub It was a joy to meet the clever minds behind Ubabub. Creators Natasha and Daniel Dumais are utterly delightful, and their modern, ultra-stylish and ultra-safe cots design have revolutionised cot design in one fell swoop. Stay tuned for further additions to this exciting brand coming soon.

15. Mae Fabric Wall Stickers The girls at Mae have not rested in their enthusiasm to create and a bounty of beautiful new repositionable fabric wall sticker designs were unveiled at the show. Mae fabric wall stickers come in a range of sizes, both large and mini and able to handle all the ‘love’ your little ones can throw their way, scrunching a specialty! Watch for the new nature inspired designs which include an Australian animal themed collection, as well as range of Christmas stickers for you to deck the halls with when the time comes.

16. Bluebird & Honey presented a departure from their iconic appliquéd denim dresses and tees with their spring/summer 2010-11 collection focusing on fresh light cotton printed sundresses, hats, singlet’s, bloomers and shorts plus accessories and beautifully presented gifts that will make summer shopping a breeze. Santa take note!

17. Agoo displayed all of their active-wear, outerwear and their gorgeous socks and leg warmers at Kids InStyle. The brand new Agoo Tushie Huggers really grabbed our attention for their cuteness and ease of use. Consisting of two inseparable layers – a pair of leggings with skirt over the top for girls and leggings and shorts for boys – with cute prints on the tushie, this is an innovative product that will be a boon for mums of little kids.

18. Dandelion Kids has imported three award winning German toy brands, Nic, Walter and Sterntaler, into the Australian market and created a veritable playground with their display. Nic wooden toy’s quality German craftsmanship was a particular standout, with marble runs, pull-along, and ride-on toys available at both the entry level and investment level.

Life In Style Comes to an End

After months of preparation and sleepless nights Life In Style comes to an end. Despite the new location at Flemington Racecourse and the change of dates we still had an enthusiastic number of visitors.
The new summer range was so very well received, with many admirers of the new suitcase packaging.
The range will be hitting stores in the coming weeks and we shall shortly be posting a list of stockists.

Another Button Project for a Rainy Day

I mentioned this great site recently http://www.projectsforarainyday.com/ as a great source of ideas and inspiration.

Here is yet again another fabulous rainy day or weekend project and great way to rejuvenate an outfit or handbag.

Button Flowers

These gorgeous flowers can be used as broaches, sewn onto handbags or fastened to a canvas to make a beautiful artwork. You'll need an assortment of old fabrics, felt, buttons or beads and anything else that inspires you. I have my grandmother's old button collection and have added to it with vintage buttons that I find in op-shops.

If you’re making broaches, you can buy the little pins cheaply in any good craft shop or bead shop. If you know someone who sews, ask for their left-over fabrics - small prints work best. The fabric layers need to be backed with at least one piece of felt and the bottom layer needs to be at least double felt thickness.

What you need

♥ Felt (assorted colours)

♥ Assortment of old fabric

♥ Needle and different coloured thread

♥ Scissors

♥ Old buttons

What to do

I find it easiest to cut the felt out first and then sew a square of fabric under the felt piece before cutting the fabric to the right shape. Then simpy sew the button you've chosen onto the top, it's that easy! Have fun with different combinations of colours and fabrics. Here are a few simple patterns to get you started, but I recommend just using your imagination!

Here at Bluebird and Honey we have quite a collection of vintage button's lying around. On 'projects for a rainy day' I discovered a great way to use them.
They had suggested a heart , but I think the same effect could could be achieved with any shape.

This is what you will need-

buttons
good quality thickish card
needle and thread
scissors

Method -

Faintly draw a heart shape on the card with a lead pencil. Fasten buttons around the outline with a needle and thread. I like to sew on two points of the heart first and then work my way around each side. Of course, this leads to a web of threads on the reverse side of the card but you can always cover these with a piece of card or fabric at the end.

Well it all started with buttons as adornments on our Bluebird and Honey Pinafores, Cushions and Purses , and our love of buttons has not yet waned.

Today I am meeting with Dani for one of last planning meetings before trade fair.

Dani has been having a much deserved holiday and today there is a lot to talk about. Our final samples have been flooding in and all is looking great - just time for some finishing touches!

Gnomes and Toadstools as Inspiration

Bluebird and Honey for the past few seasons has supported Bavarian Inspired Fashion- think cuckoo clocks, miniature cottages, gnomes and red appliqued felt mushrooms.

We both attribute it to our Germanic ancestry.

You are not imagining it however if you have noticed this trend spreading further afield. The trend has been inspired by the world of Grimm's Fairy Tales, and Bavarian Imagery is spreading to fashion and furnishings alike.

I have hinted before about my love of books and last year I discovered a wonderful book by stylist Pia Jane Bijkerk Paris: Made by Hand, it is an insiders guide to shops and studios that embody the spirit of original, handmade and decorative objects in Paris.

Such a visual feast , this book quickly got passed among my friends and became the topic of many conversations.

Well can you imagine my delight when I discovered that there is now a second book Amsterdam : Made By Hand, launched just this week - I can barely contain my excitement !

Well it only seemed like a moment ago that we exhibited at the February trade fair, and here we are already fully immersed in preparations for the August fair.
Scheduled for Tuesday 10th- Friday 13th August at Flemington Racecourse this fair looks to set to be huge, with a fantastic selection of exhibitors.

Bluebird and Honey each season strives to release new and exciting clothing and giftware, and most would recognize our signature Pinafores and Appliqued Baby Range.
Not often mentioned but still a huge part of the Bluebird and Honey collection is our range of Gift Cards.
Each season we release 6 new cards- often featuring some of much loved characters!
With intricate artwork on both the front and the back of the card , these cards are just fabulous value at $5.00 retail.
While we are still keeping next season a secret for the moment, I can let you know that there will be at least 6 new characters that we will be sharing with you !

While researching blogs from across the globe I came across a bit of a blast from my past. A secret obsession of mine, the Blythe Doll. More importantly I was very impressed with the incredibly intricate outfit that was hand-made for this little doll. 'I thought I was the only one who was obsessed with tini tiny things'.
Im in love with this very bluebird & honey-esk pini dress. Our Summer 2009 range of PINI's was remenisant of a dress my mum made for me when I was a little girl in the 70's.
Looks like Blythe has visited her childhood too......

Designing for Summer 2011

As the trade fair season looms so does the late night designing think tank. Leah and I have been working on Summer 2011 for a few months now and it is coming together very nicely, in fact there have been some great surprises, good ones, and as usual we have decided to create almost double the new products originally decided on.
This is all good news for you the consumer and our stockists.

This week I was asked by Natalie Walton - Deputy Editor of Real Living Magazine to write a short contribution for her very popular blog Daily Imprint
So my topic is 'my pantone book and how it continues to inspire me'.

What I love about designing for the new season ahead is that I get to look at my pantone book very regularly and of late Ive noticed that colours I wouldn't normally be drawn to have popped out at me. I suspect its what's called, 'growing on a inspirational level', maybe even developing the habits of the people I work closely with. Leah is probably laughing at this right now, because Ive been known to love a polka dot or two and pink and red in excess, but lately Im drawn to beige, pale blue and aqua and dare I say it... yellow.

So when I write my piece for Daily Imprint I will keep in mind my social and creative development and demonstrate the profound effect a pantone book can have on ones life, and the people I spend so much time with socially and professionally.

A funny story from the bluebird & honey social pages is an incident that happened almost a year ago now. One night at Leah's house we all sat down to eat dinner. Leah was there with her husband and three children. Her daughter Charlotte had recieved her first ever savings account keycard from the bank. She was madly in love with the colour of it, it was a bright lime green. So - I said, 'well lets get the good book out - or what I like to call 'the bible' and see what its made of. Leah's Husband Jonathan (not at all in the design business) looked at Leah in horror. I whipped out my 'pantone book' and flicked it open to the pages and pages of gradient greens. Charlottes face lit up. Jonathan sighed with relief. He said, Dani - I thought you were actually going to get out 'the bible'.

Well yesterday was Mothers Day and after weeks of dropping hints and dragging the family through book stores - I am pleased to report my efforts have paid off.
I have been longing for 'Etcetera' the relatively new book by Sibella Court, I had noticed it earlier this year and there just hadn't been the occasion to treat myself - until now that is . So as part of my Mothers days gifts I received this delightful book filled with its eclectic interiors and delightful collectables.

Of course Mothers day is meant to be a day of rest, and there is nothing more enjoyable than kicking back with a fabulous book!

Mandi lives in Sydney where she’s mum to two wonderful girls who adore cupcakes and fairy dresses. Before children she worked in marketing, public relations and event management, both here in Australia and in the U.S. While Mandi happily mothballed her corporate suits for more mum-friendly wardrobe options after her second daughter's arrival, she refused to let motherhood sap her passion for style and design. After fielding constant questions from friends and acquaintances about where she’d discovered this or that, she decided to share her knack for finding incredibly stylish things, wherever they may be hiding, with the rest of us.

When I became a mum, my style focus changed from finding things for myself to sourcing fabulous finds for my girls. I knew there were designers in Australia creating unique toys, children’s furniture and clothing, but I couldn’t find one place that brought it all together. So I created Babyology. Every day we find something new to love and here are our current picks from our favourite homegrown designers.

Vintage Vavoom

Naomi Terblanche’s Thula Thula label represents everything Babyologists love about handmade vintage style. Naomi’s love of vintage fashion started with a toy Singer and a grandmother who favoured 1940s patterns. After her first baby three years ago she launched Thula Thula on Etsy and began creating superb pieces for children.

“When I started, people said there was no point, particularly for boys, because the clothes would just get wrecked! But I found elements of vintage designs were very practical for children’s play, for example patches on elbows.” Naomi added designs for tiny babies after her own son was born at just 25 weeks.
“It was hard not being able to touch him. As a mum, you just want to be able to do something and the thing I could do was dress him.” Her 25/40 week preemie range includes hats, wrap tops and suits with side openings for lines and tubes.

The details are divine — delicate pleats, fabric-covered buttons and sumptuous fabrics. “I’m inspired by old movies, fabrics I find and what I see when people-watching. There’s always something new to learn and I’m always looking for ways to do things differently — a pocket is not just pocket!” Pockets show off Naomi’s craftsmanship, from beautifully draped cuffed pockets on her tulip shorts to tailored patches with button details on boys’ brown corduroys.

Clobber for Kids

Emma Strybosch, the Melbourne designer behind Knuffle Kid, creates stunning original fabrics for each new collection. Inspired by indoor games and Enid Blyton, the 2010 "Rainy Days" range features board game prints and the exceptionally beautiful Moonface Cape. We also love the Frances long sleeved tee with its jaunty patterned silk tie at the neck.

Pinafores are great for little girls and none are sweeter than those from Bluebird & Honey. We love the bunny and elephant appliqués and funky matching brooches that come with each pinni. Bluebird & Honey’s homespun style extends to divine décor pieces.

Somewhere Stylish to Sleep

Sure, kangaroos and koalas are cute, but we prefer to decorate the nursery with different creatures. Make a statement with Australian merino felted wool cushions and blankets from Etsy seller Olofsdaughters. Spots, birds and flowers are superb and the baby blankets are a favourite. For something different, check out their kooky squid print.

Find woodland charm at Cocoon Couture. Wooden room accessories team with beanbags and wall art while the magnificent Enchanted Tree makes a statement with its retro wallpaper patterns.

More critters abound at Bholu. Nursery coordinates including linen, cushions, rugs and nightlights come in vibrant red, orange, French blue and olive green. Bholu supports artisans in India and traditional embroidery techniques feature on their stunning range.

Gypsy Kids’ fabulous linen and fashion is inspired by traditional clothing from around the world, including kimonos, kaftans and cheongsam. The vivid red or blue paisley cotton linen is pure luxury for little ones.

There is much to love at Love Mae — their unique fabric wall decals are washable, reusable and are perfect for children who like to rearrange! Nature designs are charming, but the dress-up dolls are truly irresistible.

Finish with a journey to Tummy Mountain for charming original illustrations of children. There’s a touch of humour about the paintings — we love the little girls with chocolate-smeared faces in "What Cake?".

Bluebird and Honey now officially Instore

Well, after weeks of packing our last orders have finally been dispatched.
Autumn is barely setting in and already it has been a bumper season for Bluebird and Honey. A number of our lines sold out super fast and we kept hearing cries for more!

After a frantic few weeks of packing lots of new orders, and waiting for more stock to arrive we have some news from the warehouse floors. It looks like our friends, Monkey, Beatrice bunny and Percy panda (jersey knitwear) have been selling well so you may need to get in quick....

We are making room for more (cotton winter) knitwear currently being unpacked, and as soon as its unpacked its sure be out the door in the same breath.
What a great season it has been so far.
Our knitwear is the highest of quality and all the designs have been created to mix and match. With a variety for boys and girls its surely going to be another busy few weeks at Bluebird & Honey headquarters.
As we have limited stock of most of this range be sure to get in quick.

Denim Pinafore Dress - a bit of history

As we are well into our 3rd season our signature pinafore dress is still one of our best sellers.
When Bluebird & Honey sprung onto the market in early 2009 we made our mark with our custom designed dress, it is an extension of a dress I designed for my own DAN300 collection in early 2007. The original design is from a dress my mother made me as a child in the late 70's. One of the key design elements is that it is reversible with intricate appliques and beautiful buttons., its no wonder it is still our signature design.

Bluebird and Honey is a collaboration between designers Leah Kress and Dani Rosen, and while juggling the duties of this role we are both busy on many other projects.
While most would know Dani from her work on Dan 300 and the Daniella Rosen Collection this last month she has added 'another feather to her cap' by launching her own style blog The Style Tree.
The Style Tree is a source of inspiration of all things stylish! Dani has a passion for sourcing and presenting beautiful things from across the globe, while including great local content with interviews from the who's who of the design world. While there are so many posts of interest , my personal favorite would have to be the color of the week.
Dani Rosen truly is an inspiration.

Designing for Autumn/Winter 2010

As we look toward the autumn (fall) weather as designers we find ourselves peering into what feels like a crystal ball as we try to pinpoint what will be happening in kids fashion once those colder months come. Leah and myself have been preparing and designing for the colder weather for six months now and as we prepare for the up and coming Gift Fairs it looks to be a great season.
Over the next two month we will be previewing some of our new designs and Bluebird & Honey looks to make great headway this season as a key brand for kids. The clothing ranges have grown to include many more pieces for boys, we have also expanded our use of textiles and range of colours. This season also sees a great selection of accessories and fun things to make sure we have a variety of gift items for gift stores and stores alike. Bluebird & Honey continues to create products not just for kids and the children's market but also the young at heart.
It has been a very exciting time as the business has grown to accommodate the demand.

News on the racetrack out at Randwick in Sydney is the Magnolia Square Market has been full of shoppers racing around doing xmas shopping. This niche high end market has so much to offer and Bluebird & Honey have been busy since the doors opened on Thursday afternoon.

We have attached some information about tomorrow schedule as Saturday will be the last day here in Sydney.

The good news is for those in Melbourne, Bluebird & Honey will be jet setting to Melbourne later in the week to do it all again.. We will be posting more detailed information in the coming days...

Bluebird & Honey's Director Makes it to the Pages of The Giftguide

In a detailed article The Australian Giftguide magazine have summed up Bluebird & Honey's first year as one to be remembered. Leah Kress (director) was put under the spot light 'so to speak' as the details of her business life have been documented in this article. I work along side Leah with Bluebird & Honey and it has been an incredible first year.

We are in the final throws of designing winter 2010 and so far it is looking great.

We have had the pleasure of having some wonderful stockists over 2009 who have helped grow and sustain the Bluebird & Honey brand.

We were thrilled to find out in recent weeks that Bluebird & Honey were included in the WGSN internationally renowned fashion forecasting website. We made it to the kids section as a brand to watch and 'a fashion forward children's label'.

Snippets from our Bluebird & Honey Photoshoot.....

It was a cold crisp day and our model Olivia was ready for the photoshoot of a life time.

Propped in front of a perfect white picket fence, tummy and hands full of pink biscuits, her quivering blue lips chattering as the grey clouds swooped over the mid afternoon sky...

Our challenge was getting her to stand in front of the fence and keep an effortlessly happy smile while ever so subtly showing the camera the perfectly proud pini dress.

It looks easy doesn't it..?

Well she was great and the trick seemed to be that Olivia had fallen madly in love with soft toys, Honey & Bunny.

Olivia's love affair with Honey (the fawn) and Bunny (the bunny) started when she was introduced to them at the before the photo-shoot fitting.

The bag of samples sprung open and Honey & Bunny were no sooner nestled in her arms, naturally keeping her hands free to hold and look at the selection of handbags on offer...

hmmmm which one should I choose?.. maybe all of them.. thats what these longs arms are for...

after all the excitement it was bedtime.. Honey & Bunny went to sleep and Olivia checked on them every few minutes to make sure they were sleeping.......
Olivia lives in Washington DC, USA and often asks how Honey & Bunny are.

Maybe some day soon Honey & Bunny will get to go on a holiday to visit.

They may even take some friends.. Elli the elephant... and news around town is that there is a new family moving in soon...... stay tuned.... more softies coming soon...
